Yes for political alliances as well, but not because of their knowledge, but because they are women, that's kind of the purpose of nobel women, esp. princesses.
Tbh I thought he didn't have sex with them using "being busy" as an excuse. But well, this is more realistic... I truly hate the idea of women seen as objects & that their sole purpose is to bear children & satisfy their husband. I truly hate the idea that there are 3 concubines instead of an empress at once, even if it's not Pauliana.
