well...the way i interpreted this is like this:

he found the tracking device in his bag and went to the seme afterwards to have sex. his step-dad was listening to it and comited suicide right after by setting fire.

or thats what i think.

I thought of this too. Maybe he intentionally went to seme's house knowing his dad was listening? Maybe that's why he decided to confess?

I thought it was just a tracker...Was it also a listening device? I feel like the author should have shown this better then.

Now that you've said it I'm not sure if it was merely a tracking device or a tracking plus listening device (⊙…⊙ )

okey you got a point there. i was just asuming that it was a listening device as well.
but....
as the stepdad investigating the seme he knew his adress well. so for him the uke going there for a long amount of time (he stayed the night there aswell) was a reason to panik.

he probably tried to call the uke but couldn't reach him (ukes phone battery was running out as it was shown in ch4). the time goes on and the night time comes = uke staying over (as he saw it through traking device)=they are having sex

it probably has driven him insane (he probably couldn't have gone there himself as he was afraid to see his stepson enjoing another man) and so he comitted suicide.

oh that make sense. i didnt consider that possibility. I hope the author shows it bcoz the last chapter is kinda incomplete for me.
