Nonce but I’m guessing it’s political

It’s a political thing sometimes they wait till the child reaches adult age then marry. That’s seen a lot usually to unite kingdoms or for war purposes or sometimes even like economically, etc stuff like that but it can be for bad purposes also I know they used to do it sometimes so they have like a weakness for the other side I don’t know the word it’s not blackmailing but something like that.
