No if he is the ex dukes brother then his son and yustaf are cousin's. I think he was trying to use the lazia bloodless Ran to get the dukedom for himself because he was also a lazia. Ran is cousin by name only.... So still fucking weird but no sweet home Alabama. At least that's how I understand it.... May be wrong tho
