I guess the author did a different type of pairing than usual. The system will pair you your fated pair but if your fated pair dies or has another lover, you can't pair again but you can still love someone

The ending was strange, a sense of dissatisfaction and uncertainty .... (it's my personal opinion, and maybe it's me who didn't understand the ending)
But eventually didn't they paired?
Not even seen any bites on the neck ....
