The author mentioned at the end of season 1 that there will be about different couple for season 2. Meaning season 1 couple story is finished in season 1.
First couple was in first season, and this couple is in second season, means it's second season. I suggest you to read from the start, you'll understand that way more.
I notice several authors do this where they just continue the series with a different couple. I think it's partially cause the series already has a following so no need to start from scratch. But I assumed the first couple would appear sometimes in this like I've seen in other series, even as a side character. I'm kind of disappointed that hasn't happened yet.
