Yes the emperor is estellas dad and no her mom was not a concubine if I remember correctly. The king and estellas mom meet before the king got married to the empress (the king and empress where in an arranged marriage) so the king fell in love with estellas mom and the queen was okay with that. So when estellas mom died it makes the king seem like a cheater.
