You’ve made valid points ... buuut I think what the author wanted to portray is trauma runs deep and honestly never goes away but you learn to live with it. He’s never learned how to love with it because he always wanted to be loved which is real asf ... he is a piece of shiyat but it’s so crazy hatred can run.
I do agree the empress got soft fairly quickly but I think she got real tired after the assassin attempt and the side chick lady got let off the hook.
I like how this story isn’t just simple and there’s conflict with how you interpret the story so far.
But I still don’t agree with the emperor’s ways of doing things but to kill your own mother and to be physically mentally abused your WHOLE adolescent life is tragic asf.... man his life just sucks tbh

I think that in practice this makes sense logically, victims of abuse early on have a warped idea of what love is and the emperor was literally abused from infancy to his mid to late teens. He let another toxic person into his life because he wasn’t able to recognize the warning signs until it was too late and the only thing that actually snaps him is when he is almost killed by his mistress. His mistress is probably one of the most hats or characters I’ve seen for quite some time, you saying fuck her is 100% valid. As for the emperor I think it’s important to remember that from what we currently know he was a victim of abuse in a situation where he wasn’t actually able to recognize he was being abused. He loved his mom and yearned for her love and told himself lies that if he were to endure the abuse she would come to love him. He is not in a good place mentally or emotionally, because with his mistress he’s getting love this time but placing far too much value on the love he is receiving. Also just because he needs to get over her does not make it easy, he needs to do it yes but it’s hard to cut off someone who you love from your life because they’re destroying it and they aren’t good for you. This is coupled with the fact that he only more recently recognized her behavior as toxic, she lied to him just well enough for him to not notice it and kill the empress’s entire family in the previous timeline. The biggest weakness in the story is that before hard confirmation all we got was hints that something happened to him, if I’m correct when the empress took his shirt off there wasn’t even signs that he was scarred. He hasn’t shown any signs that I can’t think of that point to him having received abuse to the magnitude that he did prior to his breakdown. Also for the empress the reason why the pacing is so slow is because the empress has no power on her own despite being someone that is unable to counter, without the emperors political support she is forced to play hard defense. She needs to win over the emperor which is why she’s trying to put aside her grievances with him in the past. Also it’s her right to choose whether to forgive someone quickly or over a long period of time, she just chose to do it faster since holding people accountable for things they haven’t done yet/did in an alternate timeline is petty. I understand if this isn’t your cup of tea since binging it is kind of a draining and boring, but I think it’s important to understand where all the characters are coming from. Fuck that red head though she’s like the actual worst fucking person I’ve seen.
I want to start off by saying, fuck the emperor and fuck the mistress. Sis thought I forgot about her, fuck the empress as well..I probably shouldn’t have said fuck her, but what she’s doing it pissing me off..
• I know he had a fucked up childhood, but just because he had a fucked up childhood don’t mean he should act like a dumbass. As I seen the flash back I felt like he had to grow up quicker. Well ofc he was going to become the emperor. I get his mom was his everything and she ended up dying, but just because that happened he shouldn’t be trusting a annoying bitch. He’s acting like a child, I get the mistress helped you coupe with your pain. But you still need to understand she’s not a good person, he need’s to stop acting like a child and grow up.
•The empress is starting to piss me off, I truly don’t understand how she can feel bad for him. Honestly I did somewhat feel bad for him, but in her situation I would never care that much about him. She’s starting to show her emotions, and ion like that.lol I could never forgive him that quickly. 1. He literally was defending the girl. 2. He literally killed you in your previous life. She shouldn’t have “forgiven” him that quick, I know she didn’t literally forgive him. But she’s showing “signs” of it..
• The blonde hair girl is just so useless she’s literally not doing anything. Maybe she is, but I thought she would do some bad ass shit.
•Believe it or not, I deadass started crying, I had and have to be very patient with this story. I was already thinking of dropping it. I was just so mad that the emperor was defending when IT WAS CLEAR PROOF of her doing bad shit. I thought she would’ve died guess not.
