That's actually not that uncommon. People raise pigs and show them for contests and stuff, they cherish and nurture them until.....dinner time! The term 'prized pig' comes from that. Cows too! It is weird though.

ps: isn't it kind of twisted how they love their pigs but still butcher them up? they love each other too but they wont butcher up each other I bet. Oh I'm not vegeterian or anything I just find it weird to be emotionally attached to an animal knowing you are going to kill it and eat it later...
