I don't like khaol, and I definitely DON'T want him to end up with River at all but this doesn't mean that I hate him. His and Kaveri's love story was utterly tragic, both of them didn't deserve that and I can understand his feelings of hate towards everyone and everything but it doesn't mean I agree with him/think that he is right. Bearing a grudge/wanting revenge almost always end up in more suffering, just look at what he did to the descendants of the servant that ACCIDENTALLY made him and kaveri be discovered. River's ancestor wasn't a bad person, he didn't mean to do that but khaol didn't care he just wanted to blame and torture someone. He was in pain and made everyone around him feel the same (he really lives up to his title). But I don't pity him anymore and you know why? Because he was given a chance, River was his chance, the chance to move on, heal, forgive and love again. River was ready to go through anything with him, even after knowing that relationships between humans and gods didn't end well he still had hope, he believed in khaol and his love. But as we all know khaol betrayed River and let that chance slip through his fingers, he once again chose the past and now he needs to bear the consequences of his choices. And as for River, I want him to live a happy life with Heil and to learn what real love is like but I also want him to get rid of any ill feelings against khaol, or he'll end up just like him. We should throw away everything that's bad not keep them with us.
