He thinks she loved him for 5 years and that's why she adores Abel . But, he's worried that she might look down in him after they have a kid so, he's like no matter what happens Abel will be the one to succed the duchy.
As far as I know Abel isn't his own son he just picked him up. But, he said that he's his illegitimate son to the people there so, that they won't harrass Abel. Now, he's saying Abel's mother.. origins etc. I don't understand if he's lying to her like he did with everyone or if he's saying the truth.
