Dark comedy lowkey. It sucked backthen since most religious groups only allowed people of the high church to “read” since owning a copy of the Bible was rare since every page was hand written and painted by artisan guilds and so only certain people could really read it much less understand it. I’m sure a bunch of people misinterpreted a lot of the text too... not to help that the bubonic plague hit and people were in the edge of their seats with anything spooky involved...(basically anything people couldn’t explain)
