So far I think he deserves his own happy ending as well!
Judging by the title and all the story building behind dogs becoming humans, I don't think the MC is gonna end up with red head, at least not long term. As much as I think red head and the MC have better chemistry, the red head will probably end up with his own pet or the god dog.
If the MC and red head could end up together, all the dog God and dogs loyal enough to shapeshift will be pointless, why bother with that then? Even so in the next chapters we're going to have the MC giving it a try and discovering he likes his pet more or discovering the red head is not as good as he seems, either way the MC and him are not going to last long if they decide to try it out (which I think they will).
I don't like love triangles that much so I'm not looking forward that much to the MC figuring out his true feelings because the puppy or the red head are gonna end up hurt and I actually like them both, even more than the MC ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
