Np! A lot of people think so too. Some didnt like how MC was pushing her feelings onto him and that ML isnt obliged to reciprocate. I’m trying to understand ML but like... I still think MC deserves better
if she needs to get kidnapped for the ML to finally confess... that's a yikes from me lmao

I’m not sure but I think he does treat MC as a person bc he’s a good person too. I think it’s just that he doesn’t reciprocate MC’s affections bc he himself takes FOREVER to realize his own feelings or to grow some balls and make her happy HIMSELF. :(((

I’ll list some scenes I read from spoilers (may or may not be chronological)
- ML & MC gets engaged but as a contract for 100 days, MC’s determined to make him fall for her
- ML falls in love w MC pretty quickly like he blushes when she smiles and stuff but he just doesnt realize it himself
- ML & crown prince (i’ll call him OGML) planned for ML to be seen as a villain to raise OGML & heroine’s (i’ll call her OGFL) reputation or something
- when OGFL found out, she feels guilty bc ML loved her and she rejected him so when she heard of the engagement she was happy! But when she invites ML and asks abt engagement, ML says it’s a contract and OGFL gets upset saying MC loves him and he should give her a chance. ML said did OGFL give him a chance too? And that MC should marry someone who likes her back.
- someone said ML gets jealous like 2 times, we’ll mostly see MC suffer from one-sided love
- ML takes MC to a famous pastry shop. They met OGFL & OGML. OGFL thinks ML loves MC and tries pushing them together. MC feels awk seeing ML still has linger feelings. When MC learns ML purposefully became villain, she realizes she didnt know him as much as she thought.
- OGFL & MC gets kidnapped, ML comes to save them. MC reaches out to be grabbed but ML grabs OGFL first bc he didn’t see MC who was behind OGFL. At that time, MC cries and just smiles bc she thought she was gonna die but didnt wanna show ugly crying face to ML. She gets saved but fainted. ML apologizes and thinks she deserves someone who’ll love her back unlike him.
- MC confesses. ML’s speechless. MC says he doesn’t have to answer right away. A few chapters later, ML tells MC he can’t respond to her feelings. MC says it’s ok. After leaving her room, ML hears MC cry.
- ML confesses while MC’s asleep, saying maybe if he met her first he would’ve fallen for her first
- MC realizes ML’s the “2nd lead”, a tsundere who’s cold to everyone (including MC) and only warm to the “female lead”, but MC isn’t the “female lead”. She tries to control her tears in front of a flustered ML. MC realizes she’s heart-broken and excuses herself out.
- ML thinks of how to confess or try to make her stay more. Then a few chapters later, MC asks to break off engagement bc she tried her best in the 100 days. ML agreed and lets her go back home bc she always gets hurt w/ her weak constitution, and that she deserves better... ;-;
- Even when MC leaves, she’s still thinking abt ML and asks maid to hire a beekeeper to get honey for ML, who has a sweet tooth i think (MC made a lot of food for him during her stay)
- ML doesnt even see MC off when she leaves, and keeps calling out her name, recalling memories, now that she’s gone
- After that, MC gets drugged and kidnapped for ransom(?)
These are spoilers i read up to chp 87 ish in the novel.
