(Facepalm) First of all, the title is Tsumi to Bachi = Crime and Punishment! Of course, he went to jail. And don't get me wrong, I love him, but this manga is about redemption and he's fucking killing people. Forgot about Hikaru (the evil bitch girl) but do you really think it's okay to kill the other girl (Risa)? He betrayed that girl, he betrayed his family (his sister worked hard for him, for the familly, and he just killed some people). What about Risa's mother? Do you think she deserved it? and do you even read the manga? Almost half of its are about his relationship with other people which help him to resolve his problem = readiness to go to the prison.
TL;DR Killing people is bad. OF course he went to jail.
