I haven't actually watched very many animes and am sorta new to manga but I had no idea what Hetalia was before I found some of the DJs...ditto with Tiger and Bunny
Puahah. I'm the same actually. I've just barely touched on Hetalia and Tifer and Bunny before I turned back to the yaoi djs.
I plan on watching them...just haven't...only watched a few animes
I think the only one I've watched with a lot of DJs is Black Butler and I don't really touch those particular DJs...
I've haven't seen many of the popular animes out there with djs like Free, Tiger & Bunny, Gintama, Haikyuu, Attack of titans, Hetalia, etc. I just read the djs and just enjoy them. I've only seen Black butler, Death note, Durara and No. 6.
Oo, I kinda did with Kuroko no Basuke and Haikyuu. I was so curious with Kuroko, but I kept putting it off, until I came across a somewhat pervy dj with Kuroko, Kagami, and Aomine I fell in love with Gusari's dj's about Takao and Midorima and I saw she did one for Haikyuu and curiosity got the best of me, haha
Kuroko no Basuke and Free! for me, which is sorta amazing cuz everyone watches these two anime

its really funny and random and weird and the plot isnt entirely there..... so once u get to know the characters, you can skip around with the episodes and such :P
Only Yoneda Kou's doujinshi from Katekyo hitman reborn, I believe. It was years ago tho.. I didn't even know it was a doujinshi when I read it. I've watched KHR since then but it kinda took a long time before I realized they were connected lol.
In general I don't like reading doujinshi if I haven't watched the anime. I just can't get into it.
On the other hand, many times I've seen cute fanart and wanted to check out the anime.
What yaoi doujins have you read first before reading the actual story? Or still haven't read them?
I found Haikyuu through a Kagehina dj, and I'm debating whether I should read Gintama from all the yaoi djs I've read about Gintoki and Hijikata.
