you’re reading far too much into a ROMANCE MANGA. Let me repeat that, a ROMANCE MANGA. We’re following a story about two people who will or will not end up together but share a bitter sweet romance. Weather it’s cliche or cringe or unrealistic it does not matter. It’s a story.
It definitely matters if it’s unrealistic or cringey. A bitter sweet romance needs to obviously have likeable characters. Characters are the essence of the story and big the characters are bad then the story will also be bad.
If you don’t like the story or the characters, simply don’t read it. If the author intended them to be as they are then that’s that, really not much else to say.
The topics section exists for exchanging opinions. I did stop reading the story after getting frustrated, I’m just saying why I don’t like it. There’s plenty of good romance mangas out there with nice characters.
Fair enough. I just feel like you shouldn’t slander a character for simply being their character. But if you don’t like the story you don’t like the story, can’t change your mind. -shrug.-
Im so confused now with what you’re trying to say. Are you saying that characters shouldn’t be slandered no matter how they behave? But isn’t that whole point of a character to make the story progress, and to make the reader feel different things about them? If you have a character whose personality sucks, you want the readers to dislike them.
Well obviously the character didn’t suck to the author because they wouldn’t haven’t written them like that. I’m not saying ALL characters can’t get slander, that would be a stupid statement.
Yeah well obv the author would have tried to make a likeable main character. My point is that we should be allowed to critique all characters and stories, regardless of genre. Why can’t I say the female lead sucks if I think she sucks? This whole forum section is here for us to state our opinions. This whole convo is confusing so I’ll just go
I don’t like the fl. She’s so hotheaded and irrational. She’s also really, really immature. A normal author would’ve been fed up with her by now. I’m not sure how Kaguya didn’t request for a new editor or something because if I were an author and I got an editor like her, I would ask for another one immediately.
