Interesting comparison to bring up! I had forgotten that they were (ex?) step-siblings. I don’t remember anyone acting like it was repulsive for them to get romantically involved, it was supposed to be endearing and we were supposed to cheer them on. Only difference is that it’s heterosexual. Different culture, but I think the double standard would still apply. I think there’s some latent homophobia here.
