I finished reading this and did my maths homework- yeah, I was /that/ desperate to get the feels out of my head. I don’t cry easily reading these kinds of things, but when I read that scene of them reuniting and crying together, a single tear just slipped out which honestly surprised me- this was such a beautiful read.
I want to give it five stars, but at the same time, it also left me with so many unanswered questions...
K seemed to be interested in Gusam (ah- speaking of which, we don’t even know his surname, I just realised) which might have been why he interrupted when he was talking to that girl? But then, it also seems like he was the one who pushed the murder onto Gusam. It’s not unusual if he stayed by his side and made him think that he would only be safe around K as a form of mental manipulation, but he never did that, which confuses me.
Was he jealous? Of how Gusam lived so freely? That he wanted to drive him into a corner? When he asked him if he was tired of his life, and he said no, did it make him want Gusam to feel that? Like in the end, when Gusam told Suchae that he was scared and tired. Was that what he wanted?
Also ;-; granny ;-; she was so precious. Whatever happened to her... did she wait for them? Did the detective notify her of their deaths? How did she react? Do they perhaps meet again in the next life as well?
What happened to the detective? (The other one, not Young-gil) Did he ever find out the truth? Did he feel guilt? Did it bother him until the end? Or the kid who was bullied by K...
Some scenes felt kinda random too, but I wonder if there was meant to be some kind of symbolism behind it that I just didn’t catch haha-
The creator made so many intriguing characters, and left so many plot bunnies, that it makes me so curious.
But at the same time, the manhwa ended so perfectly that it would feel wrong to continue where they left off. A separate spin-off would be nice, just to know... but at the same time, the whole plot seemed like,,, just an excuse? They needed something to bring them together, and what could bring two people together faster than running from the law-! So I guess that’s why the focus on it wasn’t so heavy. The main thing was just... them. Their story. How they met, fell in love, died, and reunited ;^;
I accidentally spoiled the ending for myself by reading comments before starting, so I knew they died together. As I read it, that scene where he thinks to himself, ‘how can I leave you?’ I kept thinking about how he really didn’t. Until the very end, they stayed together.
In a way, the story feels incomplete as a whole. But /their/ story, at least, didn’t.
Thank you creator, and thank you for translations !!
