Why is bisexuality underrepresented?

A lot of people are biphobic unfortunately, even in the lgbtq community. It's always "pick a side." Like if a bi girl dates a man she's suddenly straight? or if a bi man dates a man it's suddenly "stop being in denial." We can never win.
