totally unrelated to the ongoing discourse, i’ve said it before but luke is genuinely one of the most gorgeous characters ever. you can really tell with each panel how much affection the artist has for him. the variety of expressions we got from him this chapter was a feast for the eyes. call me andrew cause im obsessed~
i’m not gonna mince my words, anyone who thinks that the author intends for you to read this arc and “pick a side” and not see that BOTH luke and andrew have flaws they need to work on should not be engaging in any discourse around this webtoon. luke wasn’t in the wrong for not going along with andrew’s trauma inflected pessimistic world view and andrew isn’t in the wrong for getting some much needed space. luke IS in the wrong for not giving andrew’s argument any space and not having a real conversation on what’s causing all these feelings and anxiety in their relationship. andrew IS in the wrong for not communicating with luke how he’s been feeling internally and just skipping town with no heads up to his boyfriend that he is literally living with. i love this arc and i’m sad that it’s become some pissing contest over who’s wrong and who’s right in the fandom.
i hate that i love this artist enough that i’ll keep reading this story even though it pisses me off. stories like this really grind my gears because nobody would act like this. idk why this trope is so popular in omegaverse stories especially because omegaverse is just “what if men could suffer from misogyny” and stories like this break the immersion. no one from a marginalized gender would ever continuously put themselves at risk of rape out of pride. i wish more bl authors knew you can still write tsundere gender insecure angry uke stories without throwing logic out the window.
yessss, the discourse in these comments is sooo good. it is my first time reading an omegaverse, it's refreshing that people are calling out rape/lack of consent tropes. I def agree that this manga could have been developed with more focus on an internal struggle and what it is like to be a marginalized person who gets taken advantage of. IMO a quality plot with occasional sex scenes >>>>>> big quantity of sex scenes.
I hope Andrew learns to stop projecting so much of his trauma onto Luke even just a little bit in this arc. I also hope that Luke learns how to better navigate Andrew’s triggers. Overall I was very satisfied with this chapter, Luke stood his ground even with Andrew (unintentionally) guilt tripping him and Andrew left to get some much needed space from Luke (the codependency, although fun for us readers, is deeply unhealthy for Andrew). This is an important impasse in their relationship and I have full faith in the author to be able to handle all of this baggage. Andrew and Luke have to work these troubles if they want to grow together and have a long lasting HEALTHY relationship. Gosh I just love this webtoon so much .
Side note: I have so much respect and admiration for how this author handles race and class with care and nuance because that’s a true rarity in the BL world. Bruno is a complex POC character and it would be so easy to scapegoat him as a one dimensional villain like most BL authors but this author hasn’t so that deserves praise.
haven’t read such disjointed chapters in a long time, nothing is connecting this plot together just gorgeous art and a dream. also the ages of these characters really confuses me like our mc references being an adult yet his dad gets angry at him because he thinks mc is plotting with his mother to switch parental rights over??? and school building looks like a high school yet they say they’re in the same major so i guess it’s supposed to be university? anyways i’ll give this a few more chapters but if the author doesn’t fix the narrative issues i'll probably be dropping this soon. which is unfortunate because the idea is good and the art is magnificent.
the uke is actually allergic to communication the seme isn’t much better either tbh cause he could’ve just confessed like a normal person ages ago. normally this would piss me off because i hate a prolonged miscommunication trope but they’re teenagers so this isn’t that far fetched to me. the seme is probably do the most obnoxious thing possible and enter them as couple for some kind of public confession which is insane but as something i fully believe a teenage boy would think was a good idea lol.

this arc feels sooooo much faster paced compared to the novel
