The dynamic between the emperor and Kay was so well written cuz he never actually fell for the black flag unlike other stories. The action and horror was great too.
I just wish they actually portrayed MLs character development better, with Kay being royalty and all it'd have been great to see romance that was slow burn and not forced in the end.

I should've started with the novel instead of reading it pre-climax. Their chemistry in the novel was TOP TIER and everything made sooo much sense. The side stories are amazing as well. A+++
