I get that this is a classic shoujo trope where the MC is all bubbly, cute in the way that they can get away with saying cheesy lines aimed to "move" the ML and is the only one special enough to stand by the ML's side without getting hurt but did they really have to make him look like a middle schooler? Seriously? It just feels so wrong in this context.
The novel is a lot better and far more consistent. In the manga, they seem to have skipped a few dialogues and scenes. It is a pity, truly, for such a good novel. I would highly recommend reading that.

The main character was such a lovable idiot, I couldn’t stop laughing, and the male lead? A whole green forest. Grounding, gentle, and the kind of presence that puts you at ease. I adored them both! I'm really going to miss them.
