In the novel, it was supposed to be a missing kid of Catherine's aunt (or some relative). Rize faked that he found the missing boy and she was found out and finally exiled and went to a faraway monastery. The real missing boy was coincidentally met and found by Edith and Killian and was awarded.
So now they changed it to this. Im not complaining.
