Um not as good as I wanted it to be :( had such a compelling revenge story in the beginning that just dissolved into nothing??? Character development of any sort is practically nonexistent and halfway through was boring and repetitive. Also the scenes where the ‘Chinese foreigners’ attack them multiple times and the way they are so negatively portrayed as perverts and criminals feels very xenophobic and weird. Some comments the mc would say would just leave me ???? Imo it reveals the authors opinion which is not great. Kinda disappointing thought it would be a cute little toxic story but nah ;(

To be honest I don’t know but I feel like he was. I think he played the victim/crazy card so he’d seem more pitiful like Mero so he wouldn’t be left behind. And when he realized he could play the amnesia card he did. Notice how in chapter 50 we saw him smile after getting the scissors taken away he knew what he was doing. This was all his game, his plan to make Cheong-rim his.

I doubt mc was faking his mental illness. I genuinely believe that mc was going through something like schizophrenia or some other mental illness because he’s been needing help ever since his mom died. When his mom died, his symptoms became worse and he feared that ml would abandon him, therefore clinging onto him or constantly having sex just to forget about his mother’s passing. It was fucked because this drove him into insanity to the point he would hear his mother’s voice and see these bugs on him that mc can only see, viewing himself as dirty and constantly scratching/cleaning himself to the point he has bruises and scabs. Then he would seek out drugs to escape the voices in his head whenever ml was out for work and not by his side, making him even worse. His crazed mind drove him to having flashbacks about the red mansion and how he forgot to pay rent or pay back the person who sold drugs to him even though he was dead. His father dying was the breaking point for him. He would become insane and forget things, even ml, and when he was abandoned in his home back in the red mansion, he almost ended up killing himself to, again, escape the madness he’s experiencing in his head. So no, he never faked it, the only thing he ever faked was his amnesia towards the end because he feared that ml would abandon him again, so he believes that if he were to forget everything that has happened, they would be “happy” together.
My cousin is a druggie the symptoms the mc displayed were common side effects of drug use. The spiraling, the psychosis, the itchiness the hallucinations. She used to say she got bugs crawling on her. It was always about the bugs. Also she always pulled on her hair and she swore she was hexed but she was so rough and kept pulling and pulling riping out it out. Her was long but now it's short and she has no lashes. It got worse when my tia died. She rebound hard. Her leg was swollen where she injected the drug. Everyone knew she was on it she was so figudy during the rosary and prayer
