Wdym now?? Rape has always been the plot of most bl. It's only recently that there's less rape. But even the stuff that got animated had rape, we cannot let things slide just based on our rose coloured nostalgia glasses
Then it's not regarded as good bl. I understand that most of bls have rape, but back then I can easily find unique manhwa and manga, now it's difficult to find a new story with new setting.

Just finished the Captive Prince book and I've been craving for yearning man that loves his country's enemy. It's about a Prince of another kingdom and a prince of another kingdom turned to slave and yearns for the ice cold prince. Ughhhhhhh I want to read something like this again.
