YALL WHAT THE MOM DID ISNT OKAY BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN WE SHOULD HATE HER TO DEATH AND SAY SHES GASLIGHTING AND SHIT.
shinwoos family on his fathers side was abusive towards him, his brother, and his mom. shed reached her breaking point with the brothers death and ran away. should she have left shinwoo? no. would she have emotionally neglected him if she brought him? very likely yes.
her abandoning him or not both had negatives and positives (if you can call them that) like if yall had a twin die at a young age and yiu had to live with your parent(s) only seeing you as them would that not cause a boatload of trauma? especially when they're already mentally unstable and dealing with ptsd?

yall are looking at this WAY too black and white. she clearly regrets leaving shinwoo and suffering from the depression and guilt from all that isnt 'gaslighting'. odds are that she wants to see shinwoo and apologize and has wanted to for a long time but is worried about it retraumatizing him and also thinks she doesnt deserve that.
like im not defending the mom abandoning shinwoo. she left him in an undoubtedly abusive environment, that was wrong, thats not justifiable; HOWEVER you have to understand that the mom was dealing with extreme mental health issues, especially since her surviving son looked exactly like the one that died. its entirely unfair to treat her like some evil villian when in reality she an incredibly human character, that did things with many emotions and intentions. she was in a permanent fight, flight, freeze mindset and the death of one of he sons was her breaking point. she had to leave it ALL. including shinwoo. again, thats not okay to leave him in that environment and abandon him she just was only thinking about her own survival.
like do yall need it to be physical beatings to understand the mindset of abused ppl?
