I think the hate against yaoi is so unwarranted because the toxicity in yaoi is found in every other genre but for some reason yaoi is always being signaled out. I honestly 100% believe that the hate is rooted in misogyny because yaoi/bls are targeted towards a female audience and is created by women. People just see women like a certain thing and decide to hate on it. Like do y’all not think who brought bls/yaoi to be where it is now..?
Obvi, I’m not defending everything that happens in yaoi because yeah it’s fucked up. But people on here act like yaoi is the devils creation and shit like that. The same things you see in yaoi, I guarantee you’ll it in yuri and any straight story but the energy is never the same.
And before y’all be like “omg it fetishizes gay men” STFU. The people I see hating aren’t even gay nor a man and y’all speak for the whole community like they all agree. Yaoi is no different from any other story with the difference only being the between two men.
