I love this story so much bc it is just as much about the characters as individuals as their romance. I find Yuri so refreshing (and fucking funny) as a character, especially one in BL. Sometimes...people aren't perfect happy people. Sometimes...it can take a minute for people to realize how hurt they have been. I find Yuri so compelling bc he acts on things that deep down we all feel and want, so much of the story being pushed forward is Yuri being SO out of pocket. Recently he finds out Lee was having sex with a ton of ppl and hes like ah fuck, I gotta do better than them. THATS SO REAL. He has manipulator behavior but its not stemmed from the authors weird idea of gay men, its his own realized way of trying to protect himself. I love him, thats my brother right there.

That's exactly why I love Yuri. He's not perfect, and I like that. He's a really refreshing character in comparison to the majority of fluffy/wholesome BL characters, haha. He actually feels like a human with his flaws and insecurities.
And also the toxic characters. He is not like them. Yeah he is a bit twisted but it's funny more then anything to see how much he wants attention from his Jiri
Cirrus asking if he thinks he's dirty…shows how haunted he is by what the teacher did. I imagine he thinks it's his fault since no one was ever there to tell him otherwise. Ik he is toxic and for some ppl that makes it hate him. Honestly it's sad to see him desperately try to connect to skylar and fail, he must be so lonely
