
Even now he's trying to salvage his relationship. He genuinely made choices out of love. He may have been shortsighted, but he definitely wants the best for all his people and takes responsibility for his actions.
I didn't think Diana was that bad at first, but geez! No wonder she lost her holy power in both timelines. She long since stopped helping others and is now going out of her way to inflict suffering. She def became arrogant, selfish, and greedy.

He's been blatant about his interest. He's met her very publicly, had no problem being seen with her at the hotel, and very proudly introduced himself to her classmates. She's been the one trying to hide their relationship.
He's definitely not going to cave to his mother. She just thinks she can force him into doing what she wants, but she's getting ready to find out he's just been going along with her for the time being because it suited his interests
But it got creepy fast...Girlie should just run away with her knight. They're both being used and mercilessly ridiculed because of their parents' poor choices. They both deserve better
