It’s interesting cause the influence Hubert has over Melissa could have been really creepy and controlling but time and time again he’s shown to just love her sincerely and was very careful in how he approached her at different stages of her life. I like how she doesn’t doubt his love for her cause it’s pretty obvious how much he loves her

I do think he’s being misled and manipulated into helping the bad guys at this point (as a 15 year old). Maybe not so much when he’d be 25 and helped with killing alex…hopefully our sunshine ML can help alex get him on the path of no betrayal before he truly becomes evil.

The rough part is Naos is very avoidant and has some very real trauma (his sister’s death that he feels he caused) that he’s a bit like a rock (unmovable) in not wanting to bring someone else into his life that could get hurt
As a reader, I don’t want to read about Naos’ watching the girl he loves fall for someone else. I hope the jealousy arc doesn’t last long. The author wrote herself in a bit of a hole by making Naos as stubborn as he is. At least in the last chapter he didn’t reject Pania’s supper offer hah
But I really don’t want to see Pania romantically or sexually involved with anyone beside Naos (who we’ve been reading about for over a year if you’ve been following the story from the start)
