Why does the doctor even get to have a story? Ugh!

Probable spoilers ahead and unadulterated and very biased opinion/rant!
That doctor really effin rub me the wrong way! He already knew Shizuma has a boyfriend. He already tried to mess with them. Why the heck does he get to have space for him to pine over someone who is already taken? Total waste of space. If the author wanted to make a story out of him, the earlier chapters were enough. I already know he has some sort of trauma because of a lover. He has some massive trust issues with other people. We've already seen it, no need to repeat the same conflict in one story. Also, based on what have been shown about him, given the chance, he would've pursued Shizuma. So, no more of him please.
All I need now and moving forward is a story for Minato and Shizuma and how they will become better persons for each other. For Shizuma to get to have his career and enjoy their "married" life without nuisances. And for Minato to finally let go of his trauma and give his full trust to Shizuma.
