I've been thinking about my past (and current) ships in multiple different fandoms and in the manga/wha I really enjoy and I have come to realise that there are a few similar factors in all of them.
I absolutely love characters with strong personality like arrogant, cocky, confident, which lead to the couple bickering and bantering before they get together and even more so when they get together... makes me just wanna ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
That's also why enemies to lovers tropes is top tier for me because most of the time the main couple has those personality traits. A bonus is when they are having sex and they keep trying to assert dominance over eachother while being snarky and insulting the other and then in the end one of them caves and gives up power... might be the reason why power play is very high up on my tropes as well.
