my advice is figure out why you draw. is it because you want the final product? because you enjoy the process? do you have a favorite step like inking or coloring?
whatever your usual motivation is, start there (doing something you enjoy) before moving on to whatever project you want to do.

I agree waiting 10 mins is reasonable and I don't mind waiting longer every once in a while. But if it's consistent...
