You know I wasn't digging the whole Poly theory about this, but if you really really look at it...Red color and lemon color, mixed together makes orange color. It was obvious from the start but I still didn't quite make the connection. I believe it really might be Polly.
Maybe she sleeps with this guy and it turns out to be mind blowing sex, so eventually she gets both of them.
