I've totally done it, even read it during school. My suggestion is decreasing your brightness all the way down, which should mean that people can't see your phone. And generally, unless you have nosy friends or people where you're at, nobody is gonna look at what you're up to on your phone. Oh, and you can get a tempered glass privacy screen protector on your phone, which would ensure people cannot see your phone ;)
