ffuuck, we have similar backgrounds. obviously mine wasn't this abusive, but in my country, at least when i was a kid (almost fourteen years ago) we didn't have autonomy and anything wrong would end up in a beating, it was(is?) normal here. now i have a nephew, and sometimes i really have to control myself and remind myself of my child self so i don't hit him. my sister is different, she's aggressive, but she tries not to be, so i'd say she is more of a screamer than a beater mom. and when she screams, it puts me in panic too because damn!!!!! dad used to scream a lot at us
