I actually really like this story and how you can see each of the characters grow through their toxic traits.
I used to hate Tessa, but I really love her growth. She started off as a brat who instigated an affair and basically took advantage of a mentally unstable guy, just because she thought he was hot. She hurt both him and Tommy with what she did, but she genuinely cared about Linus in the end and helped him out of severe depression. Then as she grew up, her marriage became distant and she basically learned what Tommy was probably going through, which she first blamed her for, and decided to leave rather than stay in a relationship which drained her. She still cares for Linus and now pushes him to seek help rather than drain herself again to pull him out of a depressive state he has no intention of leaving.
I actually kind of want to see her and Tommy meet up now that they've both grown up, maybe have an actual conversation about what went down before. I think the Tessa from now could probably realize that Tommy wasn't the neglectful monster she painted her out to be, and would be sorry for how she handled her childish crush.
Not saying that Tommy did everything right in her relationship with Linus BTW, I think she was just a bit self-centered and naive, she made assumptions about Linus' injuries and brushed off the signs of abuse, which Linus also excused and refused to talk about (just as he does with Tessa) . I don't think she was specifically neglectful, she just focused so much on her own life and goals that she ended up brushing off her partner who refused to open up, even though he was in desperate need for help. Once she realized he was suffering from abuse and such, she did care, but at that point it was already too late for their relationship...
And Linus, well... I kind of get it since I also suffer a lot from depression and stuff, but I also understand it's hard for the people around him as well. You can't help someone who's drowning when they refuse to get out of the water, and Linus desperately needs help but refuses to get said help when available. He accepted Tessa's help once and was immensely happy for a while, but he slowly went back to the water and started drowning again. He just doesn't believe he deserves to be happy, so he sabotaged himself over and over again, wallowing in the thought that he deserves it every time...
It does make me happy to see how he's grown to be a good father, and how he's so caring and supportive of the people around him. Hopefully he can see that he's grown up to be so different from his abusive father and move on from that trauma.
Riftan is so frustrating but I love that he brings the fight out of Maxi.
She's not afraid of him anymore, she knows she can be stubborn and yell at him and he'll eventually bend to her and that's so powerful after all the abuse she went through. She knows he has his reasons but she does as well and makes her voice heard, even though it used to be her biggest insecurity.
I'm still enjoying it, but at this point idk if Richard is the one getting punished or this comment section (￣∇￣")

Bruh, I get why he would be upset since he clearly can tell that his friend is interested in him, but he rushed to you and told you everything, despite him not having done anything wrong in the first place, he apologized for lying (I don't even know if it's a lie since they're somewhat friendly acquaintances who were just sitting down eating food) and said everything there was to say about the encounter.
On the other hand, you said some pretty shitty stuff and haven't even apologized properly.
Fr, saying "Your next relationship will be different" at all while you're in a relationship with them, is just plain awful. I get that you're getting a dash of insecurity here and all, but if my partner said that shit to me, I'd be absolutely pissed. Like wtf u mean "next" relationship, I have no plans of breaking this one up, do you??

yeah i mean i get why the director is mad fs, and i’m sure that mc should’ve been honest upfront, but this entire thing is just director realizing that he’s not as easygoing and willing to let yi-young go as he thought he kind of just reaped what he sowed immediately. i don’t know why that doesn’t click for some people. hearing that your current partner already has expectations for you guys not to last would hurt me really bad, enough to act spiteful and petty. it’s not the solution to the problem, but i’m pretty much on yi young’s side here.

I get why we are mad though. Their fluffy relationship is nice and all, but it’s realistic and nice to see some insecurities. I just don’t like the third party crap. If anything, I’m more mad about the brown haired dude being a potential homewrecker and he gets worse in raws.
I just need Yi and Kang to talk properly. Kang should apologize, and they should discuss about his insecurities. Even in the main story, I’ve noticed some of his insecurities but nobody realized(?).
Yeah, I agree. The only parts I don’t like is the upfront lie, but he did apologize. It’s just the raws that got me heated and annoyed at Yi, but mostly Doyeon. That son of a bitch (brown hair).
So fine, I get that the ml has major issues, including but not limited to some insane inferiority complex which makes him unable to believe Annette could ever truly love him because he "doesn't deserve her".
He not only went through some insane trauma throughout his entire life, his only way to stay "sane" and push through everything to survive, was to look at Annette as if she was some sort of God, and she would somehow save and heal him, then he went completely nuts when he realized she's only human and can't fix him, so he completely retreated from her and even shunned her because of it, while she was completely unaware.
It makes sense if you consider how traumatizing his life has been, he needed an anchor in order to survive and the closest thing to a moment of comfort he ever had was listening to Annette playing the piano and looking at her, an innocent and pure child at the time. Sure, it makes sense that she would become almost holy in his eyes and that realizing she's not some otherworldly saint would send him spiraling.
It's very interesting as a psychological trope and I am very invested in the story.... that said... I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS AS A ROMANCE STORY.
How tf am I meant to root for this toxic ass relationship where they both just keep destroying each other because they love the other but absolutely don't know how to convey it without it coming out as insincere or even vengeful???
Annette is not perfect by any means, but ml needs some serious therapy and to possibly be removed from this type of society for a couple of years before he can start forming any meaningful relationships.
