Meh. If this were real, I'd empathize even with a rapist because I know that shit's real. Like 'if' something like that really happened then damn. But this? Just feels like a marketing trick, and the sob story feels... overdone? Like some parts just felt like it's trying too hard. It made me cringe.
If the plot were better and the sob story wasn't so overdone, than maybe I'd feel sorry. But for now I just don't.
