the way people still try to downplay juheon's feelings while babying dohu annoys me. how is it that yall still dont get that juheon wasnt mad/hurt for the bl reference? he was hurt for being used, without his consent - something he had verbally expressed to hate multiple times and how much it affected him and when confronted, dohu still told him he wouldnt have said anything either way, when all juheon wanted was a heartfelt apology. and now, 4 years later, dohu is basically harassing juheon by constantly invading his space and ignoring his wants (again, juheon had verbally expressed not wanting to be around him, not wanting anything to do with him) just to push his feelings onto him because he (finally) regrets what he did. and yet yall treat juheon like shit for being hurt after being emotionally vulnerable but baby dohu even tho he's a grown man and should deal with the consequences of his actions.
I don’t think this is the kind of story where anyone should be picking sides, both the characters are imperfect. Dohu struggles with expressing his emotions while Juheon struggles with trusting people. Both the characters- there troubles route from their childhood. Dohu is unaware of how badly he hurt Juheons feelings, and is also unaware how big of pedestal Juheon put him on. As readers we are able to see their pov’s but they are not. I think it’s gonna take a lot of time for them to truly understand each other. But right now Dohu is doing his best in his own way to reach out to Juheon. I hope he is able to break Juheon out of his shell.
im not picking a side, im pointing out how people are downplaying juheon's feelings and how hurt he felt while they're babying dohu at the same time. i'm talking about how people are reacting to the story and not necessarily the characters themselves ig? like everyone is dogpilling on juheon, wants him to suffer, to be jealous and if he wasnt the one that got used / got his trust broken and even after giving dohu a chance to apologise, dohu said he would have done the same thing again (before really thinking about it ik) and now dohu is just kinda doing wtv he wants with no regards to juheon's wishes / comfort / personal boundaries.
like i understand both characters have their own flaws, both struggle with their own emotions, trauma, etc. they're not perfect - we all know that. im just pointing out how ridiculous it is imo for people to treat them so differently, i dont think anything juheon has done warrants such dislike (?) towards him
