I wonder why, we as human beings, enjoy the "player falls in love for the first time and by the time he realises his own feelings, he deeply regrets how awful he was when he first approached the person he fell for" trope....Is it like those cathartic things where you want to see bad things happen to arrogant people and seeing him suffer is his comeuppance?
