I feel for ML ans learning all this shit at once. This story has a special place in my heart because of the plot and characters but also because it is quite rare to find yaoi or shonen ai set in a historical setting with a likeable ML. Usually, these stories love the Cinderella plot with a poor commoner or even a slave uke and a noble rich ML who is an absolute dickhead and abuses MC for a good chunk of the story.
As soon as I realized that ML was respectful and loving towards uke pretty much from the get-go, I was already invested.
