I do like this story, second time reading but they did make marie a bit frustratingly stupid in the beginning for a bit because why can you recognise the crown princes voice with your back turned to him (ch 13) but not recognise him from speaking with him without his mask on. She fully spoke more with him without his mask on in the garden so its just abit stupid
