I actually think it's a reference to the novel. There's this one chapter later on where he gives minjoo (bottom) a room to himself and its all colored yellow. And minjoo asks why it's yellow, and he legit says it's because it's the color of happiness and that whenever he's with minjoo, he feels happy. And minjoo is at a loss for words cause it's the first time he's experienced genuine love.
