I kinda really liked the king character in the flashback. He was handsome and as far as obsessed male leads go he’s pretty tame. Bro only killed to fix his position to the throne and probably seclude the mcs heart so he can only reply on him and then went on to rule years of peace. Didn’t even force the bottom into anything dubious and had infinite levels of patience. The kings story actually unfolds a lot like “the Heart of the Lotus” if anyone’s reading that. That king… is a lot more toxic

I was reading don’t mix business with pleasure and just found the situation so refreshing? Usually in stories like these it kinda shows an ideal portrayal of love where once they are locked in they are in love 24/7. They just adore each other to the max. I quite liked the idea of how even two people completely devoted to each other at one point in their lives can somehow just fall apart. It feels kinda real and very angsty. I know escape journey is another good example.
