ughh unfortunately this isn't the manhwa for me. ( ´_ゝ`) which is very disappointing since the art is gorgeous and the premise of the story seemed very interesting at first, but I dislike the fact that the ML is just forcing himself onto the FL due to the implications of something happening to her in a past life...
i agree 1000% - like I love a cute hepless moment from the fl but this manhwa seems to keep babying her and really highlighting the past of her knowing the leince when she was a flipping kid. worst of it - evryone around her treats her likes child and in the same breathe, the prince whats to marry her and kiss her??? Its giving predatory. I wouldve ate this up 3 yrs ago but now, seeing the obvious power gap snd how controlling and meticuluos the prince is toward the fl is pissimg me off!
i can't tell if it's a TL error but is the step-mother pretending to be a woman?? the emperor addressed her as "sir cornelia".. not that it matters but I'm just kind of confused LOL
Nah, she's a woman. The honorifics often get switched up, esp with MTLs like these.
"Sir" is usually used for male knights, but in some translations (sometimes deliberate in some officials, often a mistranslation from a lack of care in MTLs) they also get used for women, especially if there are female knights in stories.
Some use Dame for female knights instead, but this too seems to depend on the translation. Some officials use it, some don't.
Then sometimes, what could be translated as "Sir" in English, is often also translated to "Lord/Lady" instead. You see it in the translations of this series too, it's not that consistent, sometimes they get called sirs, sometimes lords, sometimes ladies. I don't speak Korean so idk what the og honorific they use is, this is just something I've picked up from reading so many of these - esp the ones w shit translations ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Tbh I rather see female knights get called sirs alongside male knights over only the male knights getting called sirs and the female knights still have to be called ladies/miss. Tho if the story calls both female/male knights lady/lord, it's not that bad for me.
not that the writing is bad, per se, but tbh i do wish the dynamic between them was written a bit differently because if the FL is going to lie about being the ML's wife, i wish she was more consistent with the lie & more straightforward about her feelings. i understand she's lying for the sake of her survival though at the same time it's like.. how long are you going to be in denial for?
maybe i'm remembering the story wrong but if i'm not mistaken there are instances where we see the FL feel bad about some of the fake parts of their relationship?? (please correct me if im wrong on this because i lowkey don't really remember LOL) so then it's like, okay, does she want to get to know him more as a person? i'm assuming that the chemistry between them is better in the novel but in the manhwa it just feels ehhhh since we aren't really given as much depth, in my opinion, from both sides.
despite that, it's a fun read !! going to see how the story continues to unfold ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I think she is very confused because he is not the same guy as he was 2 years ago. I mean I get it, he did try to kill her 2 year ago but now he is literally a puppy in front of her. My biggest problem with her is….she can’t lie for shit. At this point even he knows she can’t tell a lie to save her life.
You are right about one thing though, her feelings are better explained in the novel

A murderer is a murderer. It doesn’t matter whether he had the memory of the crime he had committed. It doesn’t erase the fact that he had killed someone and lee-yeon had seen him. Just because he doesn’t remember it doesn’t mean he hadn’t committed a crime. A person was dead. Knowing that eased Lee-yeon’s guilt of lying to Kwon Chae-woo a little.
But Choo-ja was telling Lee-yeon to take one step further. “Lee-yeon, that man doesn’t have any memory. Kwon Chae-woo is not the same person you saw at the mountain. He is a completely new person that neither you nor Kwon Chae-woo himself knows.”
So, Lee-yeon didn’t know what to say. It wasn’t as easy as Choo-ja said it was. He wasn’t a ‘new’ person. He was still who he was: A murderer.

art really does immitate life because what do you mean modern romance authors are incorporating their mcs venting to chatgtp.. i really hope that eventually the FL makes friends outside of the ones she currently has and develops in her social relationships because it's really sad to see LOL
