Byul is just a kid kept in the dark about a lot of things and hyesung is always defending him from Dojin, even when Byul is in the wrong, which might seem like an admission of guilt for not wanting him in the beginning. He knows where he stands with his grandma and probably secretly resents Hyesung for openly talking about abandoning Byul to everyone else but never talking to him about it seriously: instead they just had another kid and promised to love it 10 times more. Hyesung kept bringing it up, like when the sister was born he was just upset he never got to hold newborn Byul; he didn't put that issue behind them so neither did Byul, but the reasons why werent properly addressed either. Eventually it gets annoying when Hyesung acts so immature even though he's the parent and Byul probably convinced himself that he was just the practice kid that they kept because they didn't have the opportunity to get rid of him. Grandma might have been shit for Hyesung but she was exactly what Byul needs, and that is Hyesung and Dojin's fault. It might not be that deep, but if it was then this is probably why.
This is starting to piss me off this manhwa's gonna end with uke having more scenes with the old guy than ML. Every chapter is some new bull about somebody trying to upturn uke"s life, its so damn pointless now. And author never gives ML the chance to be there for uke, but just throws the old guy into the mix instead like what the fuck. And this manhwa isn't a masterpiece it just leaves a shit ton of things unsaid between 2 very stupid people, and distracts from it all with nice visuals and a flashback to when they were kids. Uke is supposed to be kind and self sacrificing but hes just a fickle idiot who hides things and acts like a 12 year old, trying to please everybody and lying about every damn situation he's in, acting like hes being considerate of others when he only cares about saving face. And if there's ever an issue we get a full chapter of inner monologue, flashbacks and old guy's pedo lust for uke before we ever get some goddamn solutions. At this point old guy has a closer bond to uke than ML does, and this is all a flashback to an even worse outcome so how TF is the author gonna turn this into a good ending.
When did they live together? My point is the backstory appears when the author has no original plot ideas. We've already gotten enough backstory but it keeps making repeat appearances. Also the choice to make some old guy with the hots for him be such a major part of his life is what I take issue with. That's a willful decision by the author.
If the author isn't ready to put out their best work then they should take a 20 year hiatus and come back with something better, instead of throwing this crap out to fill a quota. Most manhwas these days are rushed and end too quickly without fully resolving the issues and addressing the characters' complexities, I'm sure the same will happen here. My issue anyway is his backstory is too long, unnecessary elements and the old guy can get lost in a well bc otherwise idiot mc will keep hiding behind him. Like this isn't even a love story worth keeping up with anymore it's just a coward and a nympho. Mc could easily take the first step and be with ML, but isn't willing to give him anything, while catering to everybody else.
Complexity is great but its been 50 chapters and author developed ML, made him self aware and repent, but MC has stayed the fucking same. This whole thing would go smoother if it felt like it was building up to a proper conversation, but throwing in random antagonists to prevent MC from growing as a person isn't about character complexity, it draws out the plot and is very evidently the author trying to milk the plot for everything it has.
Chill brother, 50 chapters is nothing, and trauma lasts a long time.
Not everything has to be resolved in a quick timeline, some times u have to let things bloom in its own time.
U might want everything resolved quickly so mc and ml can live happily ever after but this isn't that story.
Idk who "Antagonist" is for u haeyool or the hyung who looked after him, but they have hardly been random, they all play their purpose well in the story.
Also Idk how u think the hyung has a closer bond to yeongwon, I know u reading this with ur eyes closed when we had a whole heartful epsiode of yeongwon and seoin accepting they love each other 5 chapters ago or so.
A story does not only have to feature a relationship solely with the protags, one character can be shaped by multiple other characters or factors.
This fuckass uke goes right to the top of the dumb ukes wall of fame, right next to the author. Love triangles are actually ass like wdym he had a sex dream about some guy but after 50 chapters and a lifetime together, the actual ML is still in the friend zone. How the hell do you resolve that and all the other dumbass plot points in a believable way. It's always the mf redhead.
I feel like nothing really happened in this manhwa; its pretty poorly done as a psychological and even more so as a romance story. No one confessed, ml didn't have any depth he just acted the way the audience wanted and had no consistency as a character. Even though there are so many chapters it reads like an unfinished short story.
I might regret this later but rn I love this manhwa like even the major issues are so fun to read because everything has really sweet undertones, like you know intuitively that even if they fight they'll come back together in no time at all. Also I love how Haewon isn't aware of how much he loves Yunoh but his actions reveal the truth to everybody. And his personality is dominant but also reserved and not too arrogant, he's also kind of haunted which I loooove. Also Yunoh is the true definition of pathetic seme, he's always pouting and truly relies on Haewon, he perfectly embodies the groveling, needy seme trope.
I have a really loose theory that Jinx might end with Jaekyung quitting boxing, (maybe getting a coaching job) and an extended vacay/early retirement with Kim Dan because it was mentioned that he initially was only doing it for the money so that his mother would come back, and repeatedly he mentioned only caring about the money. Now that Kim Dan is in his life he'll probably only commit to boxing after the injury if it means bringing him into the picture, and once he has him I think he'll be content without boxing. Manhwa logic: happy uke = happy life. Also his shoulder is screwed up so it's not too unreasonable to quit now. Plus there's probably a dark history around boxing in their family (the reason he has the jinx) like his dad mentioned in the recent chapter so maybe he'll get a normal job or sumn. Also that chapter where Kim Dan said he'd look really good in a suit, maybe he'll be the founder of an organization to help disadvantaged kids along with Kim Dan bc they were both poor. Last bit is kinda far fetched but it would be a neat ending that resolves his imminent high blood pressure (boxing is stressing my man out).
