okay i know yall are mad at him but u must remember that he is an emperor and he needs an heir, and hurting an emperor ESPECIALLY giving him an scar is an immediately death sentence AND not having any concubines at all is almost unheard of, and she got kinda crazy when it was brought up and literally attacked him, they’re both at fault for sure but he literally did not have a choice with the role he has and the rules of that time. i do still hope that she’ll die and he will be completely and utterly emotionally destroyed cuz he did not treat her well at all after the incident but still we need to understand, i truly think this could all have been changed if they communicated more before the incident and if the mother didn’t intervene like she did (and most probably did something so fl couldn’t get pregnant) but yah sorry for long rant but historically and realistically this one makes complete sense <3
