This isn’t just a BL issue, there are plenty of straight reincarnation manhwas where the FL enters a BL world and “straightens” the characters. No one complains because readers expect a straight ending from the start.
It’s the same with BL: if a character suddenly turns gay, most don’t mind because the genre already sets that expectation. People generally take stories at face value and follow the cues the author gives.
In this manga, even if it’s marketed as a comedy, the shounen ai tag and all the “flags” the author keeps dropping naturally lead readers to expect a BL outcome.
I get your point, though, it’s nice when readers, like you, see beyond the page and think about how stories can affect real life. That pretty neat. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
