I'm from the Philippines and I feel so guilty too:( basically growing up I have everything from clothes, toys, food (more than 3x a day eating), clean bed, good parents but somehow they r pretty strict and a nice home w just one ask they will buy me new gadget. When I was in highschool to shs I studied in All girls Catholic School which means all the people or half the ppl there didn't experience poverty so the nuns and teachers required us to help the "unfortunate" one by donating old clothes, books or food during community service but for us it didn't matter bc the way our teacher show it to us as a necessary for grades not willingly or how open your heart towards the unfortunate people is somehow my classmate didn't do or we didn't feel bc of how our teachers let feel the unfortunate ppl towards us like we are very out of touch? Like u know I've wanted to be close w them but they don't want it so contradicting to their advocacy it's just so pretentious tbh. It's more than donating things or food, it's the root or the cause of the problem that we need to solve like make an organization w our parents on or like w investors who are willingly help them to always have a food while working? I mean most the old ones I encountered doesn't have work so they don't have food for their family. The donation of food and things are really helpful but not permanent.
